Rachel Ruysch was one of the most successful female Dutch still life painters of the 17th and 18th centuries. Specializing in flowers and woodland scenes, she created her paintings using a very fine brush. Spanning over six decades, she became the best documented woman painter of the Dutch Golden Age.
